Car component maker Groupe Faurecia plans to recruit another 500 workers at three plants it now runs in P¡sek, Czech Republic, by the end of next year.
Nanterre-based Faurecia just formally opened its third plant, which makes seat components, in P¡sek. The three units, where Faurecia also manufactures door panels and exhaust systems, already employ a combined workforce of 1,050.
Faurecia, which has invested 50 million euros ($73 million) at the new 486,000-square-foot P¡sek site, expects the plants to generate sales of 93 million euros ($137 million) this year. That figure should soar to 215 million euros ($316 million) in 2008, according to the group.
The French company now has seven plants in the Czech Republic, together employing nearly 3,400. Its customers include Volkswagen, Seal, Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Mercedes-Benz and Skoda.
