DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY (Jan. 7, 2:15 p.m. EST) — Zeon Chemicals LP has improved its Zeotherm-brand thermoplastic elastomers by upgrading vibration dampening and flexibility. An additional new TPE grade can be used in isolator cuffs on turbo-diesel air-intake ducts.
Louisville, Ky.-based Zeon, a unit of Zeon Corp. of Tokyo, also introduced fully transparent grades of cyclic olefic copolymer resin. the company showed the products at K 2007, held Oct. 24-31 in Dusseldorf.
Earlier this year, the firm added almost 7 million pounds of COC capacity at a plant in Kurashiki, Japan. By mid-2008, a second COC plant will open in Kurashiki with annual production of almost 30 million pounds.
