High density polyethylene pipe maker Charter Plastics Inc. is investing $4 million to expand its Titusville plant to add capacity for larger-diameter pipe.
The company has secured about $160,000 in state funding, according to the state of Pennsylvania's Web site.
The expansion will add 35 workers over the next three years. Charter's workforce is currently about 100.
According to the announcement, the project ``includes the installation of an internal machine shop, new large-diameter pipe extrusion lines and new material-handling equipment.
Titusville-based Charter officials did not return phone calls seeking comment.
Jim Becker, business development director for the Titusville Redevelopment Authority - which helped Charter secure the state funding - declined to comment.
