Megan Mehalko is chair of the corporate and securities practice group at Benesch Friedlander, and a member of the law firm's executive committee. She also serves as chair of the Cleveland-based company's polymer group and is a partner with its private equity practice group and China practice group.
Mehalko focuses her practice on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, domestic and cross-border strategic alliances and joint ventures, general business counseling, and distressed/insolvent company acquisitions and restructurings. She also has extensive experience advising boards of directors on corporate governance issues, securities law issues and strategic concerns. She represents private equity funds as well as portfolio companies of funds. She also has experience representing companies in the plastics, rubber, metal stamping and fabricating, equipment manufacturing, logistics and financial services industries.
As chair of the polymer group, she oversees lawyers from different practice groups within the firm who have expertise and experience relevant to the polymer, plastics, rubber and packaging industries. As a member of Benesch's China group, she assists clients with China-related transactions and business matters.
Mehalko also sits on the firm's professional personnel committee.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., and a juris doctor (J.D.) degree from Cleveland's Case Western Reserve University.
