Some building products in North America are much more at risk from Chinese competition than others. Michael Collins believes he has a good handle on which those are.
Collins, an investment banker with Chicago-based Jordan, Knauff & Co., has conducted extensive research on the coming wave of competition from building products companies based in China, with particular emphasis on the window and door industry.
At the March 9-12 Plastics News Executive Forum in Tampa, Collins will assess import trends and discuss the extent to which various products are at risk from overseas competition. He then will provide a summary of the ways in which U.S.-based manufacturers can respond to that competitive environment, and will discuss some of the challenges in the decision to source products from abroad.
