Newly created, Fort Wayne-based Aptimise Composites LLC has acquired Plastic Composites Co., a custom molder of fiberglass-reinforced products, for an undisclosed sum.
The company will continue to operate as Plastic Composites, which has been in business for 51 years.
``PCC will expand into new markets and new technologies within the next six months,'' said Dan Templeton, Aptimise's chief executive officer, in a news release.
``We are starting research and development in vehicle components and building products immediately.''
PCC, also of Fort Wayne, manufactures aerial tower and utility truck-lift buckets using an open-mold process, company officials said.
They are gearing up for planned growth by introducing lean and Six Sigma methods of manufacturing, PCC General Manager Steve Kepler said in the release.
``We plan on being ISO 9000 certified by the end of 2008,'' Kepler said.
