Walter Leedom, 81, co-founder of Poly-Cast Inc., died March 17 at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland.
Leedom was born in Selah, Wash., and moved to Portland in 1955 to begin his plastics career at Tektronix Inc. in Beaverton. He founded Poly-Cast in 1972 with business partner Duncan Bergeron to make tree-seedling containers for reforestation.
The company expanded into custom injection molding in the late 1970s, serving the automotive, health-care and industrial consumer product markets.
Leedom is survived by his wife, Betty, and sons Dennis and Dan. Dan Leedom is president of Poly-Cast.
