Entitled Raycounting, this sculpture is a part of the New York Museum of Modern Art's new exhibition, ``Design and the Elastic Mind.'' Sponsored by Arrk Product Development Group of San Diego, the piece was designed by architect and experimental designer Neri Oxman and inspired by rapid-prototyping technologies from the 1860s. Oxman's design uses two-dimensional planes as they are informed by light to generate 3-D form. Arrk hand-picked a resin material to ensure the translucent look while preserving the original design structure.
