The Society of Plastics Engineers and SpecialChem announced their online Learning on Demand service now is available through an annual subscription that permits unlimited access to more than 150 recorded presentations, and the five to eight new videos added every month.
SPE and SpecialChem launched Learning on Demand at the K 2007 trade show in Germany. All of SPE's archived e-Live Presentations recorded one-hour talks on a wide range of topics in the plastics industry are available through Learning on Demand.
``It gives us an additional distribution channel,'' said Susan Oderwald, executive director of SPE in Brookfield, Conn.
Previously, presentations could be purchased on an individual basis only.
Oderwald and Julien Dugaret, business unit manager of e-conferences for the Paris-based SpecialChem, explained the agreement at a news conference at SPE's Antec conference. SpecialChem also had a booth at the Plastics Encounter trade show.
One year of unlimited access costs $770, although a discount price of $599 is available before June 1.

Earlier this year, SPE formed another partnership to deliver information technology, with MediaBrains, which will build and manage SPE's Industry Directory, a buyer's guide for the plastics industry.
MediaBrains, of Naples, Fla., which creates business-to-business online directories that have advertising positioned alongside the related content.
