Custom sheet manufacturer Nudo Products Inc. has added another Davis-Standard sheet extrusion line at its plant.
The system features a 4½-inch extruder and a 60-inch-wide roll stand, and is engineered to process high and low density polyethylene, high-molecular-weight PE, polypropylene and ABS, according to a Davis-Standard news release.
It is the company's second sheet extrusion line and will increase sheet capacity by about 66 percent, said Patrick Nudo, in an Aug. 6 telephone interview.
``It's an exciting purchase for us,'' said Nudo, a main partner in the business with two of his brothers.
The company operates out of 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Springfield, where it employs about 150. In addition to sheet extrusion, Nudo also runs eight vinyl profile extrusion lines and four Cincinnati Milacron injection molding presses.
The firm's extrusions and molded parts are mainly used in-house in fabricating various items.
Nudo targets its paneling products at several end markets, including architectural and decorative, transportation, stage and seating, marine, animal confinement, flooring, construction, food processing and refrigeration.
Nudo distributes its products to one- and two-step distributors, original equipment manufacturers and big-box retailers, Patrick Nudo said.
