Rohm and Haas Co. has developed a foam stabilizer for cellular PVC trim board.
ParaloidT SureCelT can cut material usage by 10-15 percent, the Philadelphia firm claims. It gives even expansion and high cell uniformity across wide-sheet dies. It also makes it possible to extrude very thick sheets to lead to new product opportunities.
Rohm and Haas said cellular trim board usage is growing because of its low maintenance, resemblance to wood and high durability. The new additive contributes to lower gloss for enhanced paint adhesion. Its formulations exhibit good viscosity and are easily substituted in existing formulations, the company said.
