Xinjiang Blue Ridge Tunhe Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. plans to build a polybutylene terephthalate resin plant in Changji City for textile applications and engineering polymers.
The facility will begin operating in 2009, the company said in a news release. Production capacity and cost were not disclosed.
The facility will be built by Frankfurt, Germany-based Lurgi Zimmer GmbH, and will be Lurgi's fifth PBT plant in China using its polycondensation technology.
Private equity firm Blue Ridge Capital China in April bought Xinjiang Tunhe for 628 million yuan ($90 million) and renamed it Xinjiang Blue Ridge.
Blue Ridge Capital China is a joint venture of New York-based hedge fund Blue Ridge Capital and Justin Tang, founder of Chinese travel Web site elong.com.
