(Sept. 22, 2008) — We would like to correct the false impression in the marketplace given by your headline titled, Rehrig files for bankruptcy protection, in the Sept. 12 issue of the Plastics News Daily Newsmail. Rehrig International Inc., of Richmond, Va., is the company that filed for Chapter 11 protection, not Rehrig Pacific Co. Inc. Rehrig Pacific Co. has never been a part of, nor shared ownership with, Rehrig International Inc.
Rehrig Pacific is a thriving family-owned business that has been helping companies handle, store and transport a diverse range of products in many industries since 1913. The Los Angeles-based company, with nine manufacturing facilities throughout North America, is an international company with sales offices and licensees worldwide, offering an ever-expanding line of plastic packaging products that includes returnable plastic crates, pallets, carts, and containers designed for materials handling applications in agriculture, bakery, beverage, dairy, retail warehousing and distribution, and the refuse and recycling collection marketplaces.
