Fuel Total Systems California Corp. is building its second U.S. plant to mold six-layer plastic fuel tanks for key customers in North America.
The 140,000-square-foot plant will be built in Lebanon, Kentucky officials said Sept. 30. Cost of the 140,000-square-foot plant has not been released, but the company expects to create 100 jobs.
FTS California is the 4-year-old U.S. subsidiary of FTS Co. Ltd. of Japan. It molds tanks in Lathrop, Calif., for New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. of Fremont, Calif., which makes cars for General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp.
FTS itself is part of auto supplier Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd. in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
