Our sister newspaper Waste News today has a story about a recent fire at Grossman Group Inc., a Columbus, Ohio, paper and plastics recycler. The Oct. 18 fire destroyed the 32,000-square-foot building, equipment and about 750 tons of paper and plastics, according to President Steve Grossman. The fire was started by a spark from a contractor's torch. Grossman said three other local recyclers stepped in to help, offering to process materials for his company. Grossman Group leased the building from the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio.
