Sunoco Chemicals has added a high-clarity and high-performance polypropylene to its UltraClear resins.
The new grade has a melt flow of 2 grams per 10 minutes, considerably lower than other UltraClear resins. It is geared for extrusion and blow molding to boost clarity. It reduces haze by up to 50 percent.
Philadelphia-based Sunoco says it potentially can replace polycarbonate, PET, vinyl or polystyrene in consumer products, housewares and other clarity-oriented applications.
