Automotive industry veteran Jim Moore became CEO of Gainesville, Texas-based PolyPipe Inc. in November 2007. PolyPipe (www.polypipeinc.com) manufactures polyethylene pressure pipe, offering one of the broadest product lines in North America. PolyPipe's product offering ranges from ½-inch- to 65-inch-diameter pipe and includes both high density and medium density PE resins.
The firm's products are used in wide variety of applications and end markets, including general industrial, potable water/wastewater, oil and gas production, and natural gas distribution. The company which is owned by the Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm The Halifax Group (www.thehalifaxgroup.com) operates five plants across the United States. Polypipe announced late last year that it is preparing to open soon a new, 50,000-square-foot extrusion facility in Midland, Texas, to serve the fuel-drilling industry.
Moore has spent most of his career in tier-one manufacturing of exterior plastic automotive parts. He has held a variety of leadership roles and specialized in turning unprofitable plants or divisions into profitable companies. With more than 30 years of experience he joined PolyPipe from North Carolina molder and extruder Nomaco Inc. Prior to Nomaco, Moore held several senior leadership positions with tier-one automotive suppliers, including Inalfa Roof Systems Inc., LDM Technologies Inc. and Guardian Automotive.
