Craig Nikrant is vice president and general manager of the Specialty Engineered Materials business for PolyOne Corp., based in Avon Lake, Ohio.
PolyOne (www.polyone.com) ranks as North America's largest plastics compounder, with a market share estimated at about 10 percent. The firm, with annual revenues of more than $2.7 billion, provides specialized polymer materials and services. The unit that Nikrant oversees offers a broad portfolio of high-temperature, low-temperature, high modulus/structural, lubricated, conductive and high-density engineered compounds formulated using a variety of engineered base resins and filler types.
Before joining PolyOne in 2006, Nikrant spent 17 years with GE Plastics, most recently as general manager of GE Specialty Film & Sheet for the Americas, where he led the transformation from GE's core business to a business focused on new application development, new products and growth.
During his career with GE Plastics, Nikrant advanced to positions of increasing responsibility, including marketing manager, business manager and general manager. He began his career as an account manager with 3M Co.
Nikrant is a certified Six Sigma master black belt and holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
