Paul Peterson is a principal with Wind Point Partners, a middle-market private equity firm based in Chicago. Wind Point owns 16 companies and currently manages approximately $2.5 billion of capital. Peterson has been with Wind Point (www.wppartners.com) since 2000 and has participated in and led investments in a number of private companies in several industries, including consumer products, industrial products and chemicals.
He is the lead investor and a member of the board of directors of Citadel Plastics Holdings Inc. Citadel, based in Philadelphia, is the platform company for Wind Point's investment strategy in plastics compounding. Citadel was founded in March 2007 with the acquisition of the Matrixx Group, a thermoplastic compounder based in Evansville, Ind.
Last May Citadel acquired Bulk Molding Compounds Inc., a Chicago-based producer of thermoset plastic compounds. Most recently, Citadel completed an acquisition of Canadian-based Aclo Compounders Inc. Citadel Plastics now generates roughly $200 million in sales from 12 manufacturing facilities in six countries.
Citadel and Wind Point continue to seek investment opportunities in the plastics market. Prior to joining Wind Point, Peterson was a financial analyst at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, a middle-market investment banking firm in Los Angeles. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
