India's Lohia Starlinger Ltd. is making blow molding machines for Techne SpA, the firms announced at the recent PlastIndia 2009 in New Delhi.
Lohia, based in Kanpur, India, makes heavyweight fabric and sack-making machines. Director Gaurav Lohia sees potential to supply blow molding machinery globally, especially in developing markets in Africa and Southeast Asia, within the next two years.
Initially, the first machines will be for the Indian markets, but we have a very aggressive export-oriented strategy, covering 60 markets for our fabric and sack machines, Lohia said.
Lohia is starting production on two extrusion blow molding lines: Techne's single-shuttle System 4000-S470 and its double-shuttle System 4000-T470. Techne is based in Bologna, Italy.
Lohia's fabric-related machinery business has been good in developing economies where infrastructure, industrial and agricul- tural sectors have been booming, said Vinay Sah, joint managing director of Lohia Starlinger.
