(Feb. 27, 2009) — Your idea of sharing an agenda for the plastics industry for 2009 is appreciated [PN shares '09 goals for plastics industry, Jan. 5, Page 6].
Such an agenda applies to the industry captains and professionals at the helms of institutions across the world to consider.
Perhaps one more point may be worth adding.
Spectacular advances in various plastics applications regularly need to be brought to the notice of citizens around the world. These applications could be in the medical industry, aeronautics, communications, information technology, space research, defense, transportation, infrastructure, housing, energy savings, water management, food delivery or waste prevention.
Once a month in every country, a different application could be highlighted telling citizens, students and administrators that only due to plastics was this made possible.
Maybe then the plastics industry would be viewed as a very important part of modern society, and not merely as source of cheaper substitutes to traditional materials like paper, wood, tin, and glass.
