RW Plastics SA de CV, which claims to be Mexico's largest recycler of post-consumer and post-industrial low density polyethylene, has changed its name to Teknopellets SA de CV and is investing in film extrusion equipment.
Mexican textile group Global Denim SA de CV of Mexico City has bought the shares of the Sidauy brothers, Emilio and Gabriel, according to the company's commercial director and partner José Manuel Fernandez. Managing Director Bernardo Lew Gerson remains as another partner at the company, which is based in Toluca, just west of Mexico City. The firm was founded four years ago.
Teknopellets claims to supply 40-60 percent of Mexico's recycled LDPE, and it exports to Central and South America, according to Lew Gerson.
The company is investing 40 million pesos ($2.7 million) in seven film extrusion lines to make T-shirt bags with post-consumer PE content, Fernandez said.
