Rampf Group Inc. has added several polyurethanes for soft castings for electronic components.
The new Raku-Pur compounds are designed for a range of automotive applications such as sensors and circuit boards. The resins protect components from humidity, dust, chemicals and mechanical loads, the Wixom, Mich., company claims. The compounds also optimize insulation values and help dissipate heat.
The five new soft materials exhibit excellent temperature-cycling properties in the range of 58° F to 266° F. Resistance to vibrations ensures no crazing, even in thick-layered applications, according to Rampf. All the products have good adhesion in targeted end uses.
