The National Association for PET Container Resources has increased its membership ranks by one-third, from 25 to 33, since December as it continues to branch out from its traditional membership base of PET bottle makers, resin manufacturers and suppliers.
Sonoma-based NAPCOR announced April 1 three new members, including PET resin manufacturer Wellman Inc. in Bay St. Louis, Miss., which emerged from bankruptcy in February. The other new members are PET recycler Reterra Plastics LLC in Houston and blow molding machinery supplier Krones Inc. in Franklin, Wis.
The five other companies that have joined NAPCOR since December are packaging equipment supplier KHS USA Inc. in Hillsborough, N.J., recycler Pure Tech Plastics LLC in East Farmingdale, N.Y., and three thermoforming companies: Par-Pak Ltd. in Brampton, Ontario; Solo Cup Corp. in Highland Park, Ill.; and Wilkinson Industries Inc. in Fort Calhoun, Neb.
NAPCOR stepped up recruitment of thermoformers and sheet extruders about a year ago, and now there are eight such companies in the association.
