Expancel (Booth S10063): Microspheres, small spherical thermoplastic particles consisting of a polymer shell encapsulating a gas. Akzo Nobel NV-owned Expancel makes unexpanded microspheres, used a blowing agents, and expanded microspheres, used as lightweight fillers.
Holliday Pigments SA (Booth N66063): Three new types of ultramarine pigments in standard, very dry (for high pigmentation concentrates) and low-dust grades. Introducing an acid-resistant grade of ultramarine pigment for stadium seating, where plastics can be exposed to high-energy solar radiation. Holliday bills itself as the world's leading supplier of ultramarine pigments, which are used in plastics, coatings, cosmetics and printing inks. Entire Prestige-brand line has been approved for food contact and toy applications.

Milliken Chemical (Booth S54055): Millad-brand NX8000 clarifier for polypropylene. The new product offers a 50 percent reduction in haze compared with current industry standards. The additive is credited with driving expanded use of PP as a replacement for glass and other clear polymers in food storage and packaging, officials said. Milliken now is producing Millad NX8000 at its plant in Blacksburg, S.C. The firm also will focus on ClearTint-brand colorants for clarified PP, which can add dramatic effects and color without affecting transparency; and Hyperform-brand additives for polyolefins, which can improve dimensional performance, mechanical properties, processing speed and aesthetics.
