Is the federal stimulus plan helping your company? It's helping Deceuninck North America LLC, an extruder in Monroe, Ohio, that serves the construction industry. Earlier this week House Minority Leader John Boehner, a congressman with a plastics background, paid a visit to Deceuninck for a plant tour and a town hall meeting. This story about the visit, from USGlass Magazine's Web site, pointed out that the company has benefitted from the stimulus plan, which Boehner did not support. "We've recently started hiring again and our orders are increasing," said Mark Parrish, the company's president and CEO. Boehner told the crowd: "The $800 billion stimulus was supposed to be about [jobs], but it seems to be more about spending," although he added that he has seen signs that the economy is getting better. I'm sure Deceuninck is not the only plastics company in the constuction sector with postive things to say about the stimulus plan. How about firms in other end markets -- is the stimulus a plus, or are you in Boehner's anti-stimulus camp?
Is the Obama stimulus plan good for plastics?
