The following items came in too late to be included in Plastics News' May 4 NPE2009 preview issue focusing on primary equipment:
Absolute Haitian Corp. (Booth S50031): Three Haitian injection molding machines, including a Jupiter-series, two-platen, hybrid electric servo pump machine. A Mars 181-ton hybrid electric toggle machine and an all-electric Zhafir Venus 135-ton press. The Jupiter model JU 12000/8400/j press and robot cell will be molding a thick-walled laundry basket, demonstrating energy savings during the cooling cycle.
Bekum America Corp. (Booth S28039): Introduction of multi-parting-line technology to its BM-406D double-station blow molding machine. With MPL, the midsized shuttle machine can make more than 5,000 15-ounce oval shampoo bottles per hour. Also, long-stroke machinery, PET extrusion blow molding, large-part molding and coextrusion.
FGH Systems Inc. (Booth S16008): All-electric, single-station UMS 4E.S blow molding machine, designed by B&W Blowmolding Systems, that reduces energy consumption related to machinery movement by about 70 percent compared with hydraulic machines. The control cabinet is integrated in extruder base frame, reducing machine's overall footprint by 22 percent.
Maplan GmbH (Booth S34072): Rubber injection molding machines, including horizontal machines for molding liquid silicone, with energy-saving features and a U.S.-made injection unit.
PCS Co. (Booth N60009): Molding components, standard and special mold bases and custom-made products. PCS hardened throughout pin. Volastic-brand hot-runner systems. Integrated hot-runner mold-base systems to simplify toolmaking and reduce tooling cost. NanoMoldCoating to solve sticking problems, improve part quality, and reduce scrap.
Shenzhen Silver Basis Industrial Development Co. Ltd. (Booth W123059): Tooling, hot runners and mold steel.
Vero USA (Booth W133047, W133048): Computer-assisted-design/manufacturing software for the tooling sector, including Visi Flow 17, an affordable injection molding simulation software that uses a patented, hexahedral hybrid mesh technology to provide accurate results at extremely fast speeds. Visi Flow is also integrated with Visi Mold and Visi Machining, which facilitates faster transfer to manufacturing.
