Haitian International Holdings Ltd. should have been mentioned in Bill Bregar's May 4, Page 1 article on injection press makers [Injection press makers gung-ho about energy-efficient machines]. Omitting the company was like writing an article on Major League Baseball with no mention of the New York Yankees (a statement not made lightly by a Boston Red Sox fan).
Haitian International, based in Ningbo, China, has developed and brought to market the widest range of energy-efficient products available to molders globally. Haitian has shipped in excess of 10,000 highly energy-efficient machine configurations, an achievement that will take Haitian's competition many years to match.
Haitian, unlike others in our market, did not waver in its commitment to participate in NPE2009. With the current state of the economy in North America and the world, Haitian has a story that needs to be heard by every plastics professional in North America that is responsible for running a profitable molding operation. It is the story of high-quality, low-cost, energy-efficient machinery.
But many American firms have either overlooked or dismissed the opportunity to reduce capital expenditures on machinery by considering a machine made in China.
In a perfect world there is room for many brands of machinery that are suitable for various applications and price/performance. But in this less-than-perfect world, Haitian's high-quality, low-cost, energy-efficient machinery should be on your list of must sees at NPE even though Bill Bregar may not think so.
