CHICAGO (June 22, 10:46 a.m. ET) — At NPE2009, Priamus System Technologies LLC (Booth N87010) is focusing on products to control and analyze hot runner molding.
Priamus said a hot runner control, by itself, is not able to detect the sensitivity of the individual nozzles, since a closed-loop control is lacking. For that reason, Priamus has added an analysis tool that automatically determines the sensitivity of each nozzle, to the Priamus Fill hot runner balancing and control system. Cavity temperature sensors in the cavity check how the flow behavior of the melt changes when the individual nozzle temperatures have been increased or decreased by a certain value.
The control shows at a glance to what extent the individual nozzles sensitivities differ and indicates a conclusion of the limits of each hot runner.
Also at NPPE2009, the company will show Priamus Fill with automatic shutoff nozzle control, for use in hot runners where an adjustment of the nozzle temperatures is not an efficient way to get a balanced mold-cavity condition. Priamus has added a control algorithm that compensates the different flow behavior of the individual cavities by automatically adjusting the delay time to open the nozzles. This new procedure, for example, allows balancing and control of liquid silicone rubber.
