SAS Automation Ltd. (Booth S10041) knows what it is like to help molders improve their production stream on individual parts by creating unique end-of-arm assembly and robotics tools.
Now the company is expanding its expertise with a lean manufacturing consulting service that can work with firms to improve their overall production across the molding floor.
The solutions we have developed have had to be lean, said President Trent Fisher in a June 23 interview at NPE. We can work with clients on their lean manufacturing, and not just send equipment in to them.
The company has thousands of different iterations of end-of-arm tooling and assembly equipment used by molders to hold finished parts in place during post-molding processes, as well as handling cutting, de-gating and other finishing steps in automated production. The new consulting business can work with materials handling, scheduling, value-stream mapping, cycle time reduction and other key steps that can reduce overall production costs, Fisher said.
SAS also is introducing new products including a heated gate cutter, an end-of-arm tooling workbench for storing and building part grippers and an internal diameter gripper that holds finished parts from the underside of the part ensuring that high polished or complex surfaces are not at risk of damage.
