Remember the 1980s? Ronald Reagan, Wayne Gretzy, MTV? How about the Rubik's Cube -- a 3-D mechanical puzzle from Hungarian inventor Erno Rubik? For a few years, they seemed to be everywhere. Well, Rubik is back and preparing to introduce a new plastic 3-D puzzle called Rubik's 360. This time the toy is a sphere -- actually, three clear spheres, one on the outside and two inside. Inside the spheres are six balls, each a different color. To solve the puzzle, the player shakes or otherwise manipulates the balls through holes in the spheres into colored compartments in the outer sphere. I don't know of Rubik's new toy will come anywhere close to being as popular as his Cube. If you'd like to see the 360, and hear from Rubik about how he came up with the designs, check out this video from Time magazine's Web site.
