Wood-plastic composite fence maker Heartland BioComposites LLC, which produces Prairie-Picket fencing, has shut down.
Local economic development officials in Torrington confirmed the business had closed. It is unclear if the shutdown is permanent. Details on plant size, number of employees and number of extrusion lines were unavailable.
Company owner and President Heath Van Eaton could not be reached for comment.
Heartland uses a proprietary mix of wheat straw and recycled polyethylene.
