SoundEscapes Inc. of Granite Bay, Calif., showed its i360-brand, plastic-fabric products for on-the-go music listeners, at the ASR Marketplace trade show, held Sept. 10-12 in San Diego. The line includes $40 headbands and $50 beanie hats.
Each lightweight sport headband consists of 5 percent spandex synthetic fiber and 95 percent cotton. Heavier-weight polar headbands have 100 percent polyester fleece, and the beanies use acrylic for the outer fabric and polyester fleece for the inner fabric.
In each product, an inner pocket of 65 percent polyester and 35 percent cotton can hold an MP3 player. SoundEscapes gets the 0.27-millimeter-thick film viewing window for the 1360 from Tap Plastics Inc. of Fremont, Calif.
SoundEscapes obtains injection molded, detachable ear buds and washable electronic components from China and fabrics from Taiwan. Assembly is done in Taipei.
