One year after shutting down unexpectedly, the former Outdoor Technologies Inc. plant in Macon, Miss., is back up and running under its second owner since the now-defunct Jancor Cos. Inc. went under in October 2008.
Newly formed Exterior Profiles Corp. is now extruding rigid vinyl fence and railing profiles out of the 31-worker facility. Plant size was unavailable.
Owner Loren Graber did not return phone calls seeking comment. Graber also owns Bremen, Ind.-based Digger Specialties Inc., a distributor and fabricator of outdoor-living building products, including vinyl fence, deck, railing and other architectural products. The company also sells aluminum fencing.
Digger Specialties and Exterior Profiles will be completely separate, with separate brands, management teams, products and marketing efforts, said Sally Williams, spokeswoman for the Jackson-based Mississippi Development Authority, the state's economic development agency.
Exterior Profiles acquired the business from Sugarcreek, Ohio-based door and window maker ProVia Door Inc.
ProVia also acquired vinyl siding manufacturers Heartland Building Products Inc. and Infinite Building Products Inc. during Jancor's bankruptcy liquidation.
ProVia has reopened the 360,000-square-foot Heartland vinyl siding extrusion facility in Booneville, Miss., under the name Heartland Siding by ProVia. However, the firm has not reopened the Infinite facility in Olive Branch, Miss.
At this time, there are no plans to reopen Olive Branch, Williams said.
