In addition, she has been involved in trademark and trade secret litigation. Her non-litigation patent experience includes drafting and preparing patent applications, patent prosecution, patent re-examination proceedings, freedom-to-operate opinions and due-diligence work. She has also experience advising clients concerning patent infringement, validity and enforcement issues.
Sheaffer has significant experience, as well, with chemical patent matters, including in the areas of polymers, pharmaceuticals (e.g., nutritional formulas), electroplating and synthetic chemistry. She also has experience working on mechanical and computer science matters.
She earned a B.S. degree in chemistry from the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science & Forestry at
