Plastics News has promoted J.A. Lewellen to the newly created position of advertising director, overseeing PN's six-person display and classified sales team.
Lewellen, who joined the publication in 1994, will continue to handle his Midwest and Western sales territories. National sales manager Jeff Williams, another 15-year PN veteran, will continue to handle the New England and Mid-Atlantic display territories.
Lewellen has worked for Plastics News in a variety of positions including circulation manager, Web and research manager, sales manager for Plastics Encounter trade shows and, most recently, as international sales coordinator while also successfully handling a display territory.
The plastics industry has become more international and our offerings have expanded well beyond print pages into various multimedia products, said Tony Eagan, publisher of the Plastics News Global Group and a vice president of Crain Communications Inc. With his sales and management experience and technical skills, combined with the benefit of his being located here in our Akron headquarters, J.A. is ideally suited to lead the sales department in our efforts to present integrated and global ad packages to clients.
