Next Generation Films Inc. has purchased a three-layer Varex coextrusion line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp.
The new Vertex line from W&H is the third in Next Generation's newest building, and fifth overall, according to Next Generation owner Dave Frecka.
The line can extrude 3,000 pounds per hour, Frecka said in a telephone interview.
Lincoln, R.I.-based W&H supplied Next Generation with its first Varex line in 2001 when Next Generation diversified to enter production of high-end converting films.
Next Generation, based in Lexington, now has 23 film extrusion lines. The new 134-inch Varex line is scheduled to begin production in late summer.
