A. Routsis Associates Inc. has released two online training programs, called Math for Extruders.
The math used in extrusion can be as simple as counting inventory and calculating part tolerances, or as complex as figuring out the raw material necessary to complete a production run. Math skills also are critical when determining the force applied to the thrust bearing based on the melt pressure in front of the die.
Routsis Associates is based in Dracut, Mass.
