Is there comedy gold in plastics molding and extrusion, and "backshoring" plastics processing from China?
Absolutely. Just check the clip below from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show."
Jon Stewart's show does a great job creating tongue-in-cheek news reports that mimic the style of "real" news programs, but with ridiculous questions -- often asked in deadpan style, sometimes with the interviewee not quite getting the joke.
But that wasn't the case Thursday, when the program visited a Fagerdala World Foams plant in Marysville, Mich., for a story on Wham-O Inc. moving work back to the United States from China.
Check out the clip below to see "Daily Show" correspondent Aasif Mandvi ask Wham-O CEO Kyle Aguilar, "So you are telling me that we Americans now have to make our own cheap plastic crap? You are turning America into the Third World."
I love the scene were Mandvi tries to lick the foam profiles coming out of the company's extrusion line.
