Two subsidiaries of Akron, Ohio-based Myers Industries Inc. rolled out new products at NA2010 in Cleveland.
Buckhorn Inc. showed its new EL (for extended length) line of collapsible bulk containers. Buckhorn structural foam molds the lines at its Bluffton, Ind., plant. EL containers range in bases sizes from 36 inches by 24 inches, to 110 inches by 48 inches.
The firm uses mold inserts to make standard sizes, and a welding process to make customized sizes. The EL line is part of the XT Series of collapsible containers.
New products from Myers' Akro-Mils unit include:
* EarthSaver bins, made from 100 percent post-industrial polypropylene, that come in green, sandstone and terra cotta.
* A clear, see-through AkroDrawer injection molded of an acrylic blend, which is helping Akro-Mils target the medical sector. Akro-Mils is working with Buckhorn to supply complete cart-and-bin systems, using bins and drawers and carts made of structurally foam molded components.
* ProHanger bins and racks in a J-hook design that can be wall-mounted in different configurations and lengths, to hold long parts like tools or lengths of tubing. Each ProHanger can support 75 pounds. Akro-Mils injection molds the PP parts.
* ShelfMax bins that are 6 inches high, so they increase storage capacity by up to 85 percent over traditional 4-inch bins.
