Tooling components supplier Progressive Components International Corp. has introduced new lifter blades and new collapsible cores to improve design freedom for mold makers.
The lifter blades, introduced during PDx/Amerimold in Cincinnati, May 11-13, are compact so they will fit where other options do not for releasing molded undercuts. They provide parallel lift and a positional hold for the molded part prior to release.
The blades are available in four styles and eight sizes, beginning with a 1.88-millimeter width.
The Dovetail Collapsible Core, part of Wauconda, Ill.-based Progressive's Roehr Tool Corp., also is designed to fit into spaces for deeper or flatter undercuts and allow for thinner wall sections and can simplify mold design with less maintenance time.
The DCC assembly also can be removed from the mold without removing the mold from the machine, said Dave Helenius, senior applications engineer for Roehr.
