Dynisco LLC, the Franklin, Mass.-based maker of extrusion sensor and control instrumentation, is poised to accelerate growth in Asia, especially China.
The firm introduced a V-series net melt-pressure sensor and electronics package, specifically designed for the Chinese market at the recent Chinaplas in Shanghai.
The V-series designed for plastics extruders is made at the company's Viatran division plant in Perak, Malaysia, said Chia Chee Soong, Asia- Pacific regional sales manager for Dynisco's plastics business.
The Malaysian factory started making the V-series this year, Soong said, offering faster deliveries, better responsiveness and lower costs for Asian customers. It is available in popular pressure ranges, outputs and configurations priced to compete with locally produced sensors with fewer features, Dynisco said.
Until now, the standard products we offered included advanced features that were not needed by the entire market, said Dynisco Plastics Vice President Matthew Carrara. The V-Series has been designed especially to fulfill the unique needs of customers in China and it can compete on both performance and price.
Chinese domestic firms make low-end sensors, Soong added. He predicted sensor sales in China will grow 20 percent this year.
Meantime, Dynisco is hiring new managers in Asia, building up its agent-based business structure to serve customers better in the region. The firm currently is focused on mainland China, India, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan, Soong said.
