Diversified Plastics honored for wellness efforts

Congratulations to Diversified Plastics Inc. in Minneapolis, which has received a Bronze award for the 2010 Hennepin County Wellness by Design competition. The award, from the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department, honors employers that "excel in creating a healthy working environment for its employees." Diversified Plastics stood out for its efforts to promote good nutrition along with a wide variety of activities to challenge its employees. Among other things, groups of employees at the company regularly walk one to two miles during lunch. The company also expanded a wellness area at the plant, with exercise equipment and a room for employees to meditate privately during breaks and after work.
