Let's start a semi-regular feature, Offbeat plastics headline of the day. The first winner: "Local Man Almost Killed By Plastic Salad Fork," comes from Dallas/Forth Worth CBS 11. There's no army of plastic cutlery roaming the streets of Dallas, looking for trouble. Eric Love of North Richland Hills, Texas, was almost killed by the salad fork, when a prong somehow got lodged in his throat. The incident happened when Love stopped for fast-food and decided to eat healthy -- he ordered a salad. Love learned an important lesson: he is never eating salad again. Help me watch for future offbeat plastics headlines, and I'll give you credit. It's not exactly the Tonight Show's "Headlines" feature, but then again, I'm not Jay Leno.
