Conair Group Inc. designed its MedVac flood-cooling tanks especially for medical-tubing extruders.
Available in five models, the tanks can be used to make any size or configuration of tubing, from multilumen microbore heart and brain catheters to large-gauge commodity medical tubing.
Precision vacuum control, a standard feature on MedVac tanks, combines the accuracy of digital control with the convenience of a potentiometer. Operators simply turn a knob until they reach the ideal setting, the firm said.
Other features include a cleaner interior design for more sanitary extrusion conditions, the availability of medical-grade filtration and a design that is easy to set up and operate.
The MedVac tank is part of a family of Conair downstream extrusion equipment that also includes the Medline puller/cutter. Conair also offers a microscale planetary cutter that can precision-cut rigid and semi-rigid medical tubing.
