According to a June 30 news release, the new sheet is targeted at automotive-type applications that have lower-volume production needs: golf carts, snowmobiles, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, construction, trucks and buses, aircraft and marine. The new Pennite sheet also could be used in bicycle seat substrates, orthopedic supports and camping equipment such as backpack frames, the company said.
The sheet has been produced in glass loadings ranging from 14-25 percent, General Manager John Cowperthwait said in the news release.
Sheets available for sampling are Pennite LGF PO-20 (20 percent glass) at thicknesses of 0.04, 0.062, 0.093 and 0.125 inches, and Pennite LGF PO-30 at 0.125 inch.
