Toggler Anchor System, a division of Mechanical Plastics Corp., has opened corporate offices and a new manufacturing facility in Norwalk.
The company manufactures specialty anchors. David Garfield, executive vice president of Toggler, said in a July 30 telephone interview that the company primarily serves the maintenance and repair industries.
The company injection molds all of the plastic components of its products, which are made with either plastic or metal alone, or a combination of the two materials, Garfield said.
Toggler also does some custom molding.
Toggler products are sold both to the consumer market and commercially. Garfield said sales are to predominantly heavy-duty commercial and industrial markets.
Garfield stressed that all products are made in the United States. Even though the products are more expensive to [produce] domestically, in the long run the quality is better and it pays for itself, he said.
Toggler opened the plant July 1 and it currently has about 48 employees, Garfield said.
