From the Springfield, Mass, Republican comes word that Callaway Golf Corp. plans to cut its work force in Chicopee, Mass., over the next 18 months as it shifts more work to Mexico. Mayor Michael Bissonnette told the newspaper
that the plant -- which had 600 employees when it was part of Spalding's Top-Flite business -- will be left with just 150 to 200 workers. Callaway is moving most of its golf ball production to a new plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
