Auto supplier Amtex Inc. has moved into a new research and development center in Plymouth that it said will help it create a strong and agile structure for its customers in North America.
Amtex, a unit of Hayashi Telempu Co. Ltd. of Nagoya, Japan, produces carpet and textiles, and incorporates plastics in interior trim parts such as headliners, trunk and luggage trim.
The 87,000-square-foot center will employ up to 60 engineers within four years and have testing and development operations, the company said in an Aug. 19 news release.
