Michael Urquhart will become vice president of sales for North America for Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., as Carmen Lowe, who currently holds that post, retires early next year.
Husky announced the personnel news Sept. 23.
Both Lowe and Urquhart are veterans of the Bolton-based maker of injection molding machines, robots and hot runners. After a transition period that begins Oct. 1, Lowe will officially retire in early 2011, after 23 years of service at Husky.
Husky named Lowe to his current position in 2008.
Urquhart joined Husky in 1980. He has served in a number of management positions in operations, marketing and sales, including vice president of service and sales, vice president of PET systems and, since 2007, vice president of sales for Latin America.
In his new role, Urquhart also has been named to Husky's executive team.
John Galt, Husky's president and CEO, thanked Lowe for his years of dedicated service. Carmen has developed deep relationships with many of our largest global accounts. His desire to always do what is right for our customers demonstrates a true commitment to keeping them in the lead, Galt said.
Galt said Urquhart holds many long-standing relationships with customers throughout the Americas and has done an excellent job in growing our Latin American business.
